Recently, Virginia lawmakers approved the manufacturing and retail selling of lab-made THC products such as Delta-8. Even though recreational marijuana is illegal, this change did allow for the sale of hemp-based products through out the state removing the gray area that had been existing up until this point by removing ambiguity surrounding the products. This change also allows for regulations and lab-testing requirements that did not exist in the industry before. As Dylan mentioned in the article, “It adequately addresses the legitimate public safety concern over irresponsibly packaged and labeled products without unfairly disadvantaging Virginia’s farmers, retailers and small businesses.”
