Dylan Bishop recently spoke with Lyn McDermid, Virginia’s Secretary of Administration, on behalf of VGEA. The Virginia Government Employees Association is asking Governor Glenn Youngkin to delay the implementation of his new policy that will limit employees’ ability to telework. Delaying the policy would give employees more time to navigate childcare and commuting logistics. The state administration says the policy will be implemented “liberally”, but Bishop isn’t so sure, stating in the article, “Frankly it was unworkable for a number of our members, state employees, to arrange for childcare in that quick turnaround time so it was simply unfeasible. We asked for a delay. I don’t think we’re going to be granted that delay,”.
